Maple Boulevardier
A spirit-forward riff on the classic Negroni, swapping gin for bourbon or whiskey. This fall version balances rye, Campari, and sweet vermouth with a touch of maple syrup for warmth and depth.
Because every drink deserves a beautiful moment.
Ingredients
1½ oz rye whiskey (or bourbon)
1 oz Campari
1 oz sweet vermouth
¼ oz maple syrup
Garnish: orange twist
Instructions
Fill a mixing glass with ice.
Add rye, Campari, vermouth, and maple syrup.
Stir until well chilled.
Strain into a rocks glass over a large cube.
Garnish with an expressed orange twist.
Notes from the Bar
Rye or Bourbon
The original Boulevardier calls for rye, which brings a spicier backbone. Bourbon works just as well if you prefer a softer, rounder profile.
A Touch of Maple
Maple syrup should be used sparingly. Just a quarter ounce is enough to smooth the edges without overpowering the drink.
Stirred, Not Shaken
Always stir this cocktail gently with ice. It keeps the drink clear, silky, and perfectly diluted.
Orange Aromatics
Don’t skip the orange twist. Expressing the oils over the glass balances Campari’s bitterness and highlights the fall maple notes.
