Notes from the Bar
Garnish with the Seasons
The beauty of a Gin and Tonic is how well it adapts to what’s fresh. In summer, go bright with citrus wheels or cucumber. In fall, try apple slices and cinnamon sticks. Winter loves cranberries, rosemary, or star anise, and spring is perfect for edible flowers or herbs.
Choose Your Tonic
Not all tonics are created equal. Some are sweeter, others more bitter or botanical. Try a few brands. One of our favorites is Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water. We can usually find a 4 pack at Target.
Glassware Upgrade
We love serving a Gin and Tonic in a stemmed wine glass. It feels elevated, keeps the drink colder, and gives plenty of room for garnishes. A highball works too if you prefer a classic look.
Ice Matters
Bigger cubes melt more slowly and keep your drink crisp without watering it down. But if you want extra refreshment, nugget ice or crushed ice makes it more summery.
Bitters Boost
A dash or two of aromatic or citrus bitters can add surprising depth, especially if you’re keeping the garnish simple.

Make It a Date Nite
This cocktail is part of something bigger for us. It's a ritual we return to week after week.
Each week, we create a Date Nite designed around one drink, one thoughtful menu, and the feeling of slowing down together. The kind of night where the table is set with intention, the music hums softly in the background, and the evening unfolds without rushing.
For this Date Nite, we’ve paired a cocktail with a cozy, make-ahead-friendly menu, so you can enjoy the process without spending the whole night in the kitchen. We also include little touches we love like timing notes, a head start option, and a playlist to set the mood. Feel to pair the meal with any of our cocktails.
It’s not about perfection. It’s about presence. And turning an ordinary night at home into something that feels quietly special.
Each Date Nite includes a curated menu, cocktail pairing and a playlist, as well as another thoughtful extras like make-ahead tips, leftover ideas or table talk prompts to carry the night.
