A chilled coupe glass filled with a frothy pink Negroni Sour, topped with a thick white foam layer and garnished with a large curled orange peel, set against a black background.

Negroni Sour

The classic Negroni — gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth — finished with an egg white for a silky foam and a softer, more rounded edge on the bitterness.

This cocktail is part of our Date Nite collection, made to be sipped while you cook together.

Build Your Drink

Ingredients

  • 1 oz gin

  • 1 oz Campari

  • 1 oz sweet vermouth

  • 1 egg white

  • Orange peel, for garnish

Cocktail Method

  1. Place the gin, Campari, sweet vermouth, and egg white into the base of a shaker.

  2. Shake vigorously without ice for 20 to 30 seconds to emulsify the egg white.

  3. Add ice to the shaker and shake again for an additional 15 seconds, until well chilled.

  4. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.

  5. Garnish with an orange peel, orange wheel, or dehydrated orange slice.

Notes from the Bar

Egg white is optional

If you prefer not to use egg white, simply leave it out and make a classic Negroni. The flavor will stay the same, but you will lose the silky foam layer.

Why we love the egg white

Adding egg white gives the cocktail a smooth, velvety texture and that beautiful frothy top. It softens the edges of the Campari and makes the drink feel a little more luxurious.

How to shake it

For the best foam, we always use a dry shake (no ice) to whip the egg white first, followed by a second shake with ice to chill and dilute.

Garnish Options

We typically use a fresh orange peel, but a dehydrated orange wheel or even a fresh orange slice floating on top works beautifully and photographs well.

Choose Your Gin

We love Hendrick’s Gin for this cocktail. Its floral notes round out the bitterness of the Campari and create a lovely balance.

Glassware.
A chilled coupe glass shows off the color and foam best, but a Nick and Nora or small martini glass works too.

Because every drink deserves a beautiful moment.
