Beef Short Ribs Prep:
Sear the Ribs and Make the Aromatic Broth

If you’d like a head start, this recipe is easy to prep the night before. Since the crockpot method takes longer, you can sear the short ribs in advance and store them in the fridge overnight. You can also build the braising broth with the aromatics and refrigerate it separately. In the morning, everything comes together quickly and is ready for the slow cooker.

Pro Tip While the ribs are searing, it’s also a great time to chop your vegetables and measure out the broth ingredients so everything is ready to go.
