Deep red Americano cocktail in a cut crystal rocks glass with two large ice cubes, an orange twist, and a fresh rosemary sprig, white surface, black background.

The Americano

Campari, sweet vermouth, and club soda over ice — the lighter, sparkling cousin of the Negroni. Bittersweet and refreshing with almost no effort required.

This cocktail is part of our Date Nite collection, made to be sipped while you cook together.

Notes from the Bar

SWEET VERMOUTH

Vermouth matters more than people think in a drink this simple. We like Carpano Antica or Dolin Rouge — both bring a rich, slightly herbal sweetness that plays beautifully with the Campari. Avoid anything too cheap or the bitterness can turn sharp.

THE ORANGE TWIST

Express the peel over the glass before dropping it in. Pinch it skin-side down over the drink and you'll see a fine mist of orange oil hit the surface. It adds a subtle citrus aroma that makes a real difference in such a simple cocktail.

ICE CHOICE

Use large ice cubes if you have them. They melt slower, keep the drink cold longer, and look beautiful in a rocks glass. A clear ice tray is worth the investment for a cocktail like this. → Shop our favorite clear ice cube tray

THE ROSEMARY GARNISH

The rosemary is optional but we love it here. It adds an herbal, slightly woodsy note that plays well with the bittersweet Campari. Give the sprig a gentle slap between your palms before garnishing to release the oils.

CLUB SODA VS SPARKLING WATER

Club soda is the classic choice and what we recommend. It has a clean, neutral fizz that doesn't compete with the other flavors. Sparkling water works in a pinch but avoid anything with added flavor.

Because every drink deserves a beautiful moment.
