Spicy Cucumber Tequila Spritz in a rocks glass over crushed ice, garnished with a charred lime wheel and a fresh lime slice, dark moody background.

Spicy Cucumber Tequila Spritz

A tequila spritz built on muddled cucumber and jalapeño, fresh lime, and agave, topped with Topo Chico. Light, crisp, and just spicy enough to keep it interesting.

This cocktail is part of our Date Nite collection, made to be sipped while you cook together.

Notes from the Bar

Heads up: We may earn a small commission on products we’ve linked here. We only recommend the real-deal favorites from our kitchen.

MUDDLING THE CUCUMBER AND JALAPEÑO

Light muddling is the move here — just enough to release the juice and flavor without breaking everything down. Over-muddling the jalapeño can make it bitter. For a stronger cucumber flavor, muddle the cucumbers first then add the jalapeño last.

SPICE LEVEL

Two to three jalapeño slices gives a gentle, building heat. Add an extra slice or two if you want more kick, or skip the jalapeño entirely for a straight cucumber spritz.

TOPO CHICO

Topo Chico is our sparkling water of choice here because the bubbles are finer and more persistent than most. Any sparkling water works, but Topo Chico is worth it if you can find it.

TEQUILA RECOMMENDATION

A clean blanco tequila keeps this light and citrus-forward. Espolòn or Olmeca Altos are both solid everyday options.

CHARRED LIME GARNISH

To char a lime wheel, place it cut-side down in a dry pan over medium-high heat for about 60 seconds until it develops color and caramelizes slightly. A fresh lime wheel works just as well if you'd rather keep it simple.
