Rye, Campari, and sweet vermouth — the classic Boulevardier — with a touch of maple syrup that softens the bitterness just enough to make it feel like its own drink.

COCKTAIL RECIPE
Makes 1 cocktail
1 1/2 oz rye whiskey or bourbon
1 oz Campari
1 oz sweet vermouth
1/4 oz maple syrup
Orange twist, for garnish
Add the rye, Campari, sweet vermouth, and maple syrup to a mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled. Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Express the orange twist over the glass and drop it in.

Rye or Bourbon
The original Boulevardier calls for rye, which brings a spicier backbone. Bourbon works just as well if you prefer a softer, rounder profile.
A Touch of Maple
Maple syrup should be used sparingly. Just a quarter ounce is enough to smooth the edges without overpowering the drink.
Stirred, Not Shaken
Always stir this cocktail gently with ice. It keeps the drink clear, silky, and perfectly diluted.
Orange Aromatics
Don’t skip the orange twist. Expressing the oils over the glass balances Campari’s bitterness and highlights the fall maple notes.
