A crisp, ice-cold vodka martini with dry vermouth and a splash of cornichon brine for a tangy, savory bite.

This cocktail is part of our Date Nite collection, made to be sipped while you cook together.

COCKTAIL RECIPE

Makes 1 cocktail

2 oz vodka
1/2 oz dry vermouth
1/4 oz cornichon brine
1 cornichon
1 green olive

Add the vodka, dry vermouth, and cornichon brine to a mixing glass with ice and stir for 20 to 30 seconds until very cold. Strain into a chilled Nick & Nora, coupe, or martini glass and garnish with a green olive and a cornichon on a cocktail pick.

NOTES FROM THE BAR

Heads up: We may earn a small commission on products we’ve linked here. We only recommend the real-deal favorites from our kitchen.

KEEP IT ICE COLD

A martini lives or dies by temperature. Put your glass in the freezer for at least 15 minutes before you start, and keep the vodka in the freezer too if you have room. The colder everything starts, the less dilution you need to get it crisp.

WHY CORNICHONS

Cornichons are tiny French pickles, tarter and more herbal than a standard dill. The brine adds a bright, savory edge that feels a little more refined than olive brine on its own. Look for them near the olives or specialty pickles at most grocery stores.

ADJUST THE BRINE

1/4 oz keeps it clean with just a hint of tang. For a dirtier martini: go up to 1/2 oz. For barely there: start with a barspoon and taste.

MAKE IT WITH GIN

This works beautifully with a London dry gin if you prefer more botanical character. The juniper and the briny pickle play well together.

GLASSWARE OPTIONS

We love a Nick & Nora for this one because the smaller bowl keeps it cold longer and is harder to spill. A coupe or classic martini glass works just as well.

A RITUAL WE RETURN TO

Our cocktails are part of something bigger for us. They’re the beginning of Date Nite, a connection-centered experience we created to help you slow down, share a meal, and enjoy time with the one you love.

Each Date Nite is thoughtfully planned for you, so you are not stuck deciding what to cook or how to pull the night together. We pair one cocktail with a complete menu, a simple flow from prep to plate, and small details that make the evening feel easy and connected from start to finish.

It is not about perfection. It is about presence, and creating space to reconnect, whether that is with your partner or simply with yourself, over a really good meal.
