COCKTAIL RECIPE
Makes 1 cocktail
2 oz bourbon
½ lime, cut into 4–6 wedges
2 tsp packed light brown sugar
Muddle the lime wedges and brown sugar firmly in a rocks glass to release the juice and dissolve the sugar. Add the bourbon, fill the glass with crushed ice, and stir well to combine and chill. Garnish with a dried lime wheel.
NOTES FROM THE BAR

MUDDLING TECHNIQUE
Muddle the lime and sugar firmly enough to release the juices and oils from the peel, but not so hard that you shred the pith. About 10 to 15 presses is usually enough.
BOURBON CHOICE
A mid range bourbon with some spice and vanilla works best here. Save your sipping bourbon for a neat pour, this drink is built for the muddled citrus and sugar to shine alongside it.
CRUSHED ICE MATTERS
Crushed ice melts faster than cubes, which dilutes the drink slightly and keeps it colder as you sip. If you don't have crushed ice on hand, pulse regular cubes in a kitchen towel with a rolling pin.
GARNISH OPTION
A dried lime wheel adds nice texture and holds up well for photos, but a fresh lime wedge works just as well if that's what you have.
