Blackberry Basil Margarita
Made this one? Leave a rating below.
Fresh blackberries and basil muddled with blanco tequila and lime. Deep, jewel-toned, and more interesting than a standard margarita — the basil adds a subtle herbal edge that makes it.
This cocktail is part of our Date Nite collection, made to be sipped while you cook together.

Notes from the Bar
Heads up: We may earn a small commission on products we’ve linked here. We only recommend the real-deal favorites from our kitchen.
BLANCO IS THE RIGHT CALL
A clean, bright blanco tequila lets the blackberry and basil do the work. Reposado adds a subtle oak note that can compete with the fruit. We reach for Espolòn or Olmeca Altos here.
COINTREAU VS TRIPLE SEC
Either works, but Cointreau gives you a cleaner, more refined orange note. Triple sec is fine and more affordable. Be sure and skip anything labeled "orange-flavored liqueur" with a low price point. It will make the drink taste flat.
SKIP THE AGAVE IF YOUR BERRIES ARE RIPE
Very ripe blackberries bring plenty of natural sweetness. Taste after shaking and only add agave if the drink needs it.
BASIL VS MINT
This recipe calls for basil, not mint. The difference matters. Mint makes it brighter and more refreshing. Basil adds a soft, peppery depth that plays better with tequila. Both are delicious but they are genuinely different drinks.
MAKE IT A MOCKTAIL
Muddle the blackberries and basil with a splash of lime juice and agave, then top with sparkling water or a light grapefruit soda. Beautiful and just as satisfying.
Because every drink deserves a beautiful moment.
A ritual we return to
Our cocktails are part of something bigger for us. They’re the beginning of Date Nite, a connection-centered experience we created to help you slow down, share a meal, and enjoy time with the one you love.
Each Date Nite is thoughtfully planned for you, so you are not stuck deciding what to cook or how to pull the night together. We pair one cocktail with a complete menu, a simple flow from prep to plate, and small details that make the evening feel easy and connected from start to finish.
It is not about perfection. It is about presence, and creating space to reconnect, whether that is with your partner or simply with yourself, over a really good meal.
